Episode 3 – The Doppleganger

The sun’s going down and you’re clocking in here. Some things are only nightshift. Will understand. We are night shift and we understand that there are things that go bump in the night. We’re going to cover a topic that’s been around for thousands of years. Stories of doppelgangers, mimics, shapeshifters, whatever you want to call them. They look like people you know. They might even sound like people, you know, but nobody knows what they are because they’re not people. Tim W writes, I work in manufacturing. I’m in the maintenance department. We had a situation where I had to go into a confined space and we were all getting rigged up blue. The oxygen levels were going to be messed up there and there could be some CO2 issues. So I was getting my equipment together when my coworker came to me and said, Hey, this is getting out of hand. We need to go. He kept rushing me. It was like every safety precaution that he knew that we should take. He was trying to get me to avoid.

I kept telling me something was off. He had never had me take any shortcuts when it came to safety. And we’ve done the same job hundreds of times. But he just seemed to be so pushy. I was just about to go down into the hole when I heard his voice come over the radio. Hey, what are you doing? Now I’m hearing his voice come over the radio, but I’m looking at him standing right in front of me. And whatever it was, standing in front of me just gave me a smile and a guard disappear. I’d come to find out the CO2 levels down there were so high that if I would have gone down there, I would have passed out in a matter of minutes, told my buddy the story, and he still doesn’t believe me.I promise you, that’s exactly what happened. All I can keep thinking is what was that and why did it want me to go down there?
